Camp Kitchen

Hello all I have been working on a couple of projects for the trailer and some small repairs of the trailer lately.  I tackled an issue with our trailer wiring before I started anything else.

The Camp trip we took a few months back to Blythe was a bit unnerving on the drive when the sun went down.  Our trailer light connector was not working properly and our running lights and brake lights kept going out forcing us to pull over repeatedly and giggle the connector until it started working again.  After two trips to the auto parts store (the first connector didn't fit the female end on the Toyota) I returned home with a four wire male connector.  I carefully wire by wire cut and attached quick release ends to each reconnecting as I went.  It actually went very smooth and once I hooked everything back up we tested it and it's working great.

While I was working on that I changed out all the lights with LED lights which burn longer and brighter.  I ordered extras to keep in our trailer tool kit.

After fixing the little things I decided to tackle a project I've wanted to build since we ordered the trailer but haven't had time since rebuilding our hot mess.  I ordered camp kitchen plans from Blueskykitchen.com so I could build a camp kitchen that matched the retro look of our trailer.

I have spent the last two weekends working on the first box in between house chores.  I am not done but it's coming along great and by this weekend I will be able to have a permanent spot for pots, pans, and kitchenware.  The boxes are light and with the plans you can customize it to fit your needs.  I'm sharing a few photos of where I'm at now.

Plans in hand I started my cuts.

Bones and skin laid out ready to be put together.

The inside box waiting shelves and drawers.

Side compartment which will hang some cups and utensils.

These will be the finished project and these fold up into two small boxes
weighing less than 20 lbs unloaded.

If the weather holds this weekend I will be grouting and swapping the ceiling fan out along with finishing the camp boxes.  We had a couple unexpected storms which kept me from finishing the tile and vent.

Until next week.... take care and stay safe.
